Sending larger files to CDQ (larger than 8 megabytes)
Use this page to send computer files larger than 8 megabytes directly to CDQ’s server.
Only one file can be uploaded at a time. If you have more than one file consider compressing them into a single .zip file and sending that.
After the file is uploaded the system automatically sends CDQ an email to say it is available for us to download.
Sending smaller files to CDQ (smaller then 8 megabytes)
Simply attach files that are smaller than 8 megabytes to your email and send to paul@cdq.co.nz
Logo files come in many different formats and we can deal with most of them. Simply email your file to us and we will advise if it is not suitable for the intended use.
For the more technically minded, the list below shows the various files often used for logos.
File names generally have an 'extension' after their name – these are the letters after the dot. The extension describes the type of file it is and they are shown in brackets below.
The nearer to the top of this list, the more efficiently we can process the file into your artwork.

Photographs are enormously important in producing effective visual communications. Therefore it follows that we should use only top quality pictures.
There are a number of ways of acquiring the right photos for your piece.
CDQ has access to millions of royalty-free photos via websites and photo discs. These are all professionally taken and we can often satisfy a particular requirement with a fantastic picture.
CDQ can shoot and/or organise top-quality product and location photography. We can also arrange talent (models) as required. As part of the design process we will brief photographers and direct photo shoots as required.
The advent of excellent-quality, domestic digital cameras means we can often use your own photos – with a couple of provisos.
Professional photographers spend years in training for a good reason – so they can take professional photographs. There is a lot involved here, way beyond snapshot photography. We are very happy to review your photos and give advice on their suitability.
Some digital cameras still take low-resolution photos and/or have an inferior lens. Similarly photos from compact portable devices and mobile phones are likely to be unsuitable. We are happy to give you advice, please email us a sample photo file for comment.
Photo processing software issue
When emailing photos be careful that you photo processing software does not automatically reduce the file size of the photo for ease of emailing. We always need the largest file size that your camera can take.
Logo and photo files from your website
Any files that have been prepared for or used in a web site are generally only able to be used in further web work. These files will not be suitable for use in printing. Example file types are:
Gif (.gif)
Low-resolution Jpeg file (.jpg or .jpeg)
Flash (.fl)
CDQ’s Conditions of Trade form
CDQ will always prepare a written estimate or quotation for proposed work. We request that new clients print out, complete, sign and fax back our Condition of Trade form if they wish to accept our offer and have CDQ begin the work.

Working with CDQ, saving you time
When working on a project with you CDQ aims to minimise your time input by providing quick and clear communications.
We prefer to receive your instructions by email to avoid miscommunication and provide our staff with a tickable sheet of your requirements.
We generally send you .pdf proofs by email. For clarity we code the subject lines of the emails and the name of the proof as follows:

CDQ signifies the email is from us, Proof is a description of the contents of the email, and the number is the proof name code.

The number is the job number, FNZ is the client, Flyer is a description of the work and D1 means draft 1, or the first draft proof. D2 means the second draft proof etc.
